Hybrid races in Germany

HYROX started in Germany: it launched in Hamburg, and the format is the same at every race, a 1 km run followed by a workout station, eight times over. ATHX works differently. It is one session of about two and a half hours, with a strength workout scored on the total weight you lift, an endurance workout and a MetCon X finish against the clock, plus refuel and recovery zones in between. You can race it solo or as a pair. Gymrace, a Mud Masters production, mixes 1 km runs with stations such as the sled push and wall balls, for solo athletes, buddy pairs or relay teams, and races at Airport Weeze and in Duisburg.

HYROX has raced in Cologne during FIBO, the fitness trade show at Koelnmesse, and Köln Messe/Deutz station sits right next to the grounds. In Düsseldorf, the U78 runs straight to the Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord stop. Messe Frankfurt is one U4 stop from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, the main station (get off at Festhalle/Messe), or about ten minutes on foot. From Frankfurt Airport, the S8 or S9 takes you to the Hauptbahnhof.

Hamburg Messe has several entrances, so check which one your race uses. The U2 to Messehallen serves the south entrance and the S-Bahn to Dammtor the east; from Hamburg Airport, take the S1 to Jungfernstieg and change to the U2. ATHX races at Messe Stuttgart: the S2 and S3 run from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof to the airport and trade fair in about 27 minutes. ATHX also uses Arena Berlin, a former bus depot on the Spree: take the S41 or S42 circular line to Treptower Park. HYROX asks for a physical ID at check-in, and digital copies or photos are not accepted.
